the story
God has done an incredible amount of healing, deliverance and restoration in my life over the last several years and there is a burning desire in my heart to release another album as an act of worship unto Him for all that He has done.
Throughout scripture, the altar was a significant symbol of God’s desire to be with His people. The altar was an arrangement of stones that became a place of worship, a monument of remembrance, and a mark of promise.
I want to invite you into building this altar of worship together with me through the creation of this 8 track album, "As Long As I Live".
My prayer is that these memorial stone songs would help the listener recall His steadfast love, His unchanging and unyielding faithfulness and that from this place of remembrance, it would evoke a response of worship and honour that is due to Him. My prayer is that it would inspire listeners to offer their lives to the Lord as a living sacrifice of worship no matter what season of life they find themselves in, "as long as they live".
challenges
The #1 challenge with releasing an album is the sheer cost of making it and bringing it to the world. Making music is super expensive!
Just to give you an idea - the cost of one song on the lower end is $1,300. The songs that you probably listen to from your favourite artists are at least $5,000 or more per song.
Then, there is the cost to share your music with the world. For each song, an equal amount or more is used on "marketing" costs - to get the song out there. Without spending money on "marketing" - very few people will end up hearing the song.
I am continuing to apply for songwriting and music government grants to fund this project. But they are extremely competitive and hard to get because they focus on the artist’s upward momentum in their music career (# of followers, music sales, charting on the radio, tour dates booked), which is a different metric from the Kingdom of God.

Thankfully, I am presently able to finance four out of the eight songs! Two of them are currently in production.
But that still leaves four more songs and the marketing costs associated with the album.
In 1 Chronicles 29, King David addresses the assembly of God's people and invites them to give willingly for the work of the building of the temple. In verses 6-9 it says that they gave willingly, freely and wholeheartedly to the building of the temple.
Just like King David, I am inviting and asking if you would consider giving towards the creation of this album - to build this altar of worship to the Lord together with me.
It's not about how much each person gives, but that each person is joyful and willing in the giving 🤗
